Hence it is also they partake of each others Gifts in great variety, which make the Harmony of dependency on each other, seeing a need of every Member for the Publick use, and common Profit of the whole, both in the private as well as more publick and solemn Worship of God’s House: As also an interest in each others Goods and Possessions, so far as comports with Necessity and Charity, according to the Charter-Priviledges, or Law of their King; and though no Equality, or Property, be pleaded for, yet the Works of Charity and Mercy, must be minded as a Duty to lend to the Lord, and pity and relieve the Lord’s Poor, weekly laying out for them as God hath prospered us, according to our Ability, in Freedom, Liberality, and Charity, according to our Brethren’s necessity, whether Sick, or in Prison, to visit and relieve them, and not only within the Church, but to all as we have opportunity and ability to be doing good.","segments":[{"text":"All Christians that have been Baptized into one Faith, and united in one true Visible Way of Worshipping the true God, by Christ Jesus our Lord,","proofs":["Ephesians 4:5","Colossians 3:15","Acts 2:46"],"refs":[{"printed":"Ephesians 4:5","osis":["Eph.4.5"]},{"printed":"Colossians 3:15","osis":["Col.3.15"]},{"printed":"Acts 2:46","osis":["Acts.2.46"]}],"note":null},{"text":"should keep the Unity of the Spirit, in the Bond of Peace,","proofs":["Ephesians 4:3–6","1 Corinthians 12:12–13","Acts 4:32"],"refs":[{"printed":"Ephesians 4:3–6","osis":["Eph.4.3-Eph.4.6"]},{"printed":"1 Corinthians 12:12–13","osis":["1Cor.12.12-1Cor.12.13"]},{"printed":"Acts 4:32","osis":["Acts.4.32"]}],"note":null},{"text":"seeing there’s but one Mystical Body of Christ, and should have fellowship and communion in each others Sufferings, or Afflictions; for if one Member suffer, all are pained with it.","proofs":["1 Corinthians 12:26"],"refs":[{"printed":"1 Corinthians 12:26","osis":["1Cor.12.26"]}],"note":null},{"text":"Hence it is also they partake of each others Gifts in great variety, which make the Harmony of dependency on each other,","proofs":["1 Corinthians 12:4–12, 28–30"],"refs":[{"printed":"1 Corinthians 12:4–12, 28–30","osis":["1Cor.12.4-1Cor.12.12","1Cor.12.28-1Cor.12.30"]}],"note":null},{"text":"seeing a need of every Member for the Publick use, and common Profit of the whole, both in the private as well as more publick and solemn Worship of God’s House: As also an interest in each others Goods and Possessions,","proofs":["2 Corinthians 8:9, 11–15"],"refs":[{"printed":"2 Corinthians 8:9, 11–15","osis":["2Cor.8.9","2Cor.8.11-2Cor.8.15"]}],"note":null},{"text":"so far as comports with Necessity and Charity, according to the Charter-Priviledges, or Law of their King; and though no Equality, or Property, be pleaded for, yet the Works of Charity and Mercy, must be minded as a Duty to lend to the Lord,","proofs":["Psalm 37:26","Proverbs 11:25","19:17"],"refs":[{"printed":"Psalm 37:26","osis":["Ps.37.26"]},{"printed":"Proverbs 11:25","osis":["Prov.11.25"]},{"printed":"19:17","osis":["Prov.19.17"]}],"note":null},{"text":"and pity and relieve the Lord’s Poor,","proofs":["Proverbs 22:22","Deuteronomy 15:10","Ephesians 4:28"],"refs":[{"printed":"Proverbs 22:22","osis":["Prov.22.22"]},{"printed":"Deuteronomy 15:10","osis":["Deut.15.10"]},{"printed":"Ephesians 4:28","osis":["Eph.4.28"]}],"note":null},{"text":"weekly laying out for them as God hath prospered us,","proofs":["1 Corinthians 16:1–2","3:14–15","Deuteronomy 15:7–11"],"refs":[{"printed":"1 Corinthians 16:1–2","osis":["1Cor.16.1-1Cor.16.2"]},{"printed":"3:14–15","osis":["1Cor.3.14-1Cor.3.15"]},{"printed":"Deuteronomy 15:7–11","osis":["Deut.15.7-Deut.15.11"]}],"note":null},{"text":"according to our Ability, in Freedom, Liberality, and Charity, according to our Brethren’s necessity, whether Sick, or in Prison, to visit and relieve them,","proofs":["Matthew 25:35–39"],"refs":[{"printed":"Matthew 25:35–39","osis":["Matt.25.35-Matt.25.39"]}],"note":null},{"text":"and not only within the Church, but to all as we have opportunity and ability to be doing good.","proofs":["Galatians 6:10"],"refs":[{"printed":"Galatians 6:10","osis":["Gal.6.10"]}],"note":null}],"relations":{},"diffs":[],"page":"50","leaf":74}
