Hath God revealed his will?

Yes. He hath showed his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel,a

Hath he revealed it plainly?

Yes. So that he may run which readeth it,b

And fully?

Yes. I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God,c

Should we therefore seek to be acquainted with it?

Yes. Lead me in thy truth and teach me,d

Is obedience to God’s revealed will a duty?

Yes. And now, O Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to walk in his ways,e

Is it the duty of all?

Yes. Give ear all ye inhabitants of the world, both low and high, rich and poor,f

But especially of the redeemed?

Yes. Ye are bought with a price, therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s,g

And is it their whole duty?

Yes. Let us hear the conclusion of the matter, fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man,h

Is it reasonable that God should be obeyed?

Yes. It is our reasonable service,i

Is obedience due to him as our Creator?

Yes. Thou art my servant, I have formed thee,j

And as our preserver?

Yes. Is he not thy Father that hath bought thee, hath he not made and established thee,k

And as our Master?

Yes. If I be a Master, where is my fear?l

And as our Sovereign?

Yes. All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn unto the Lord, for the kingdom is the Lord’s,m

Should God’s commands therefore take place of men’s?

Yes. Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you, more than unto God, judge ye,n
